The PR Hispanic Chamber is committed to help!
On September 20, 2017, the beautiful island of Puerto Rico was devastated by Hurricane Maria. The Chamber President, Frank Nieves, was in Puerto Rico during the hurricane and experienced the devastation first hand. After the Hurricane, he was able to personally assess some of the damages on the island. He returned to Florida on Sunday knowing in his heart that he had to create a plan of action to help Puerto Rico. Since his return, he has been working with the Board of Directors of the Chamber and volunteers. They have prepared a plan of action to collect via donations and distribute much needed items directly to the families in Puerto Rico.
Via many pictures and videos, we have all seen the damage done. We must help now!
The Puerto Rican Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Broward County will be collecting donations to send to the affected families in Puerto Rico. There were 6000 homes lost in Toa Baja and 3500 lost in Catano just to name a few of the damage done. Since they are two of the most affected cities we will start with these two, other will follow. Our volunteers on the island will be delivering the items collected and securing their delivery to families in these two towns and securing they are delivered to the needed families.
With the assistance of private companies, citizens of Florida, and the right contacts in Puerto Rico, we will help to lift up families of Puerto Rico.
